Thank you for using Abbey Carpets. We are sure that you will be totally satisfied with the purchase you make from us and the price paid. We constantly monitor other websites to be as competitive as we can.
To help you, our customer, we have set our terms and conditions below.

Payment by credit and debit card

Payment by a debit and credit cards are required at the time of order. Payments are made via Barclaycard Epdq, the most secure payment gateway online today. Abbey Carpets will automatically e-mail you to confirm your order has been placed. If for any reason, your goods have not been dispatched within 14 days of your order being placed you have the option to cancel your order and receive a full refund. If you prefer you can call us to pay by card over the phone.

Payment by cheque

We do not accept personal or company cheques, however we do accept banker draft cheques and postal orders. Please allow plenty of time if posting payment as this will slow down our handling and shipping times goods will only be shipped once payment has cleared.

Payment by telephone

If you would like to pay by phone please call us on 01702 218218 and a member of our friendly team will take your payment. We accept Maestro, Visa, Mastercard and all major debit cards. Sorry we do not accept Amex/Dinersclub. We can only accept payment by phone from the card holder and goods must be shipped to the card holders registered card-holders address in accordance with distance selling regulations.

Payment via bank transfer

To pay by bank transfer please contact our sales team who will be happy to email our bank details to you once you have made your purchase.
 

Payment by Paypal

When paying by Paypal please ensure your delivery address matches your customer address or we will be unable to dispatch your goods. This is due to Paypals protection policies. We may also find it neccessary in certain circumstances to call you so please provide a reachable telephone number for confirmation.
 

Our Free Delivery Zones

As stated all our prices include free delivery to mainland UK. These prices do not include delivery to Scottish Highlands, Offshore Islands or Northern Ireland. Our courier breaks the UK down into 3 zones. If you are unsure please see below for a detailed breakdown of all area postcodes and delivery prices affected by our zonal pricing policy. All charges are per item and do not include items longer than 2 meters. Please contact customer services to obtain a delivery price in this instance.

Terms for buying carpet and vinyl on-line

We have a minimum cost that must be met on all orders of 'off the roll' products (usually 1.5m length or more) to allow us to continue offering our free shipping service. If you do not meet these requirements we will contact you after your purchase to arrange an extra payment or refund on your goods.

Cancellation and return policy

If you wish to cancel or return your order for any reason please call or email our sales team on 01702 218218  shop@abbey-carpets.co.uk , unfortunately we can not accept cancellations or returns on cut carpets, rugs or cut vinyl flooring , unless faulty or damaged in transit.
Please note that most of our rugs are non-stock products. If you are unsure as to whether you are covered with returns policy then please do call us before purchasing on 01702 218218.
If you wish to return an item return transit can be arranged provided that you pay the return transit costs normally £16.99 per item. Shipping costs will not be refunded, refunds will only be issued once the goods are back in unused, good and resaleable condition.  Again only stock items can be refunded and restocked special order items can not be returned for any reason unless damaged in transit or faulty.
Materials must not be cut into and should be wrapped securely so as not to be damaged in return transit. We will not accept any returns of any material which has been fitted or cut. Please check all material before it is installed for any manufacturer defects.

Our Guarantee

All of our products and services ie; fitting are fully guaranteed by us and against manufacturers defects for one year form the date of purchase please see exclusions for carpet complaints. If you do have a problem please call our customer service on 01702 218218.

Please check your flooring upon delivery look out for any signs of damage in transit ie; corners of boxes torn or ripped if you see any damage please sign the drivers document received but 1 pack damaged etc. This will help us to claim against shipping company. Once opened please check your material carefully before installation DO NOT FIT IF DAMAGED. If your flooring is faulty on delivery please call us up to 7 days after delivery. Your item can be replacement or refunded once returned to us and checked.

Some faults may have to be inspected on site by the manufacturer if they have occurred after installation so we may need to have the flooring inspected by the manufacturer at your premises to solve the complaint. Carpets must be installed in compliance with British Standards B.S.5325.

Carpet Fault Exclusions 

Shading and pile reversal

Carpets and rugs lend them self to pile pressure ie in deep pile carpets you may see foot prints in walkways this is normal and not a faulty, as is flattening of pile in high traffic areas which can cause shading of colour.

Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee against the effects of normal use. Pile will flatten more quickly in areas of heavier use, particularly in walkways and in front of chairs. In some carpets this will be more noticeable than others. This is not a fault and will not affect the durability of the carpet.

Fading

Some rugs and carpet do fade a little with time, if in strong direct sunlight, this effect can be stopped ie please do not put a rug or carpet in direct sun areas.

Colour

The carpet and flooring colours shown on our web site are accurate as we can get. However colours can appear different on different PC monitors as settings may not be exactly the same lighting in your house. Please order samples to confirm colours and inspect the carpet in the lighting of your own home. Dye batches can also vary and therefore it may be possible that your carpet does vary very slightly from the sample..

Size Tolerance

Clause 3 BS 3655 ( 1981 ) A slight tolerance on all roll materials of +/- 0.25% is allowable so please be sure to add more than enough extra material.
